Co-sign Mike Huckabee's Letter to John McCain; We Want A Face-to-Face Debate!
My Letter To John McCain
by Mike Huckabee
The Honorable John McCain
John McCain 2008
P.O. Box 16118
Arlington, VA 22215
Dear Senator McCain:
It's been my pleasure sharing the stage with you this past year, as we have worked to promote our ideas to lead this country. I have the deepest respect for you as a person, politician, and an American hero – and I appreciate the way you have run such an issue-based, positive campaign.
Now that the race for the Republican nomination is down to just the two of us, I believe this is the time for a real discussion about our vision for the future of this great country. I encourage you to join me in a Lincoln Douglas-style debate so that voters can better understand our views on critical issues such as health care, education, energy independence, terrorism and national security.
Our Democratic counterparts, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, have had recent opportunities to underscore the differences in their positions. It seems only fitting to me that Republican primary voters are offered the same.
I look forward to working with your staff to schedule this as soon as possible. I would suggest we set the debate before the March Fourth Primaries. It is my hope that one of the TV networks would offer to sponsor such an event.
Senator, let's lead by example and get the ball rolling. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this idea and debating you in front of the American people
Sincerely,
Mike Huckabee
Former Governor of Arkansas (1996-2007)

If you live in one of the counties listed below, we urge you to attend your county's "mass precinct meeting" tomorrow (Saturday), February 16. Doors will open between 9:00-9:15am. These meetings should be over by 12:00pm at the very latest.

What You Can Do For Governor Huckabee Now!
What happens now?
Now that Huckabee has carried Georgia, Arkansas, West Virginia, Alabama,Tennessee, and Kansas, we move on as an organization. We have three key priorities going forward in support of Governor Huckabee:
1. The battle for the nomination now shifts to the upcoming primary states:
On February 12th: District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
On February 19th: Washington, and Wisconsin
The Huckabee campaign needs your help to reach these voters. Please sign-up through the national campaign website to help with calls, e-mails, and other Get Out The Vote efforts for these states!
2. Although you may have given generously to the campaign in the days leading-up to Georgia's primary, we ask you again to give whatever you can – $10, $20, $25 or more to support the Get Out The Vote efforts in these later primary/caucus states! You can use the campaign link on the right sidebar or simply visit mikehuckabee.com/contributions to make a much-needed contribution!
3. We very much continue to need your help here in Georgia. This time we need your local involvement. The Republican Party of Georgia will soon begin its mass meeting and convention process in order to select delegates to go to the National Convention this fall. The selection process begins with the precinct meetings, which in many counties will being on Saturday, February 16th.
We urge every Mike Huckabee supporter to get involved in the convention process by contacting your local county's Republican Party and planning to attend your local precinct meeting. Put your name forward to be a delegate to your county's convention and then participate at the county and the congressional district level. We need to insure that Governor Huckabee gets every delegate he can from Georgia! You can also download the rules of procedure for these local and state conventions here.

An Important Message From Governor Huckabee
Mike Huckabee for President - Faith, Family, Freedom
What a day! Thanks to the hard and tireless work of tens of thousands of supporters nationwide we scored terrific victories last night. You made calls, you sent emails, you wrote letters and waved signs and because of you we won: West Virginia, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia and we came oh so very close in Missouri and Oklahoma.
Let’s celebrate a bit this morning, but we must now quickly shift our focus to the next states casting votes: Louisiana, Washington, Kansas, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Our campaign is already competitive in each of these states but we need to drive our momentum there and begin contacting voters immediately. Kansas, Louisiana and Washington all cast votes on Saturday and The "Chesapeake Primary" (DC, MD and VA) is next Tuesday.
Here is what I need from you this morning:
1. Make lists of everyone you know in these states and send them an email asking them to vote for our campaign. If they are undecided please tell them to visit our campaign website to learn more about the issues we are fighting for and the kind of grassroots team we have assembled.
If you don't know anyone living in DC, MD, VA, KS, WA and LA, please email or phone people you know that support my campaign and ask them to get more involved. We need more volunteers, new contributors, and new supporters. Friends contacting friends and convincing them to participate is the secret to our success.
2. If you are a Ranger please email your friends and family and ask them to contribute towards the amount you pledged to raise. If you have already raised what you pledged, please consider boosting your goal. Rangers helped raise over $200,000 over the last 6 days, but to compete effectively, over the next days we will need to double and triple that amount.
If you aren't a Ranger please consider signing up today. Rangers help raise funds for our campaign and helped place over 100,000 voter contact calls for our campaign to voters in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
3. Make an immediate contribution of $25 or more today. I’m headed into a meeting with my campaign team now to review our resources and determine just what we need to propel our efforts in these next key states. I’ll drop you a note later today with a summary of our discussion. In the meantime, if at all possible, please make an immediate contribution today.
The second half of this marathon race has begun. We are stronger, faster and most important, we are together.
With deep gratitude,
Mike Huckabee

In Woodstock:
Presidential candidate, Governor Mike Huckabee will be giving his personal testimony at both services at Woodstock First Baptist Church this Sunday morning, February 3rd, 2008. Visit their website for service times.
In Macon:
Later there will be a rally at the 3rd Street Park in Macon,Georgia from 3:00 – 4:40 p.m. The rally will be at the Cherry and 3rd Street Entrance.
GRTL PAC has endorsed Governor Huckabee for President. Gov. Huckabee responded to our inquiry of his position on the life issues by stating, "In keeping with my consistent support for life, I believe in the 'one exception' clause for the life of the mother and I support the Georgia Personhood Amendment. I also support, and have consistently done so, the Human Life Amendment to the United States Constitution."
Gov. Huckabee has a proven track record of solid pro-life legislation during his terms as governor of Arkansas. He is noted for having passed a state "Human Life Amendment" which says that "the policy of Arkansas is to protect the life of every unborn child from conception to birth." Arkansas Amendment 68 will take effect the moment that Roe vs. Wade is reversed. He is especially supportive of our efforts here in Georgia, to promote the passage of H.R. 536, the Paramount Right to Life Amendment (www.personhood.net).
Remember to vote on Tuesday, February 5th as if someone's life depended upon it, because the unborn babies' lives do! GRTL PAC believes that the best pro-life vote for President is Mike Huckabee.
National Right to Life had released this statement:
National Right to Life is grateful for the strong pro-life record established by Mike Huckabee as governor of Arkansas, and recognizes that Governor Huckabee has taken the strongest pro-life position on all of the life issues of any of the remaining candidates for president.

Governor Mike Huckabee Reception a Big Success!

Governor Mike Huckabee joined us in Georgia both yesterday and today for key events in Atlanta. On Monday he appeared at Ebenezer Baptist Church and later for the Martin Luther King, JR. anniversary celebrations. There was also a press conference in which many leading black pastors from around the nation endorsed the Governor!
Today (Tuesday), many of us who have been working for Mike since August in Georgia, along with some serious financial supporters, turned out to show Governor Huckabee our support at a fundraiser/reception at the Capitol City Club in Atlanta. Mike delivered one of the best speeches to the crowd I have heard him give so far in this campaign. He boldly declared his experience and vision that position him to be the best choice for President of the United States.
His warmth and clear communication extended from the podium to the personal give and takes that went on with supporters both before and after his speech. The media was well-represented as was the Georgia legislature. I have provided some preliminary photos for your enjoyment. Now is the time to stand up for Mike in Georgia and sign-up your family and friends to vote Huckabee on February 5th!

Third In New Hampshire!
January 08, 2008 - 10:10 PM
by Mike Huckabee
I just finished speaking to our supporters in new Hampshire before heading off to South Carolina. We are running a strong third place finish as I write, our rivals had a long history in New Hampshire, deeper organizations and millions of dollars of advertising in the state. Just weeks ago we were polling 5th and 6th in the state. Tonight we finished strong and came in third. A special thanks to the people of New Hampshire! Thank you to the volunteers on the ground and our dedicated campaign staff that made this happen.
Our ideas are resonating: our strong support for life and marriage, securing our borders, preventative health care, energy independence and massive tax reform all helped propel us here.
Let's keep it going. Important primaries in Michigan, South Carolina and Florida are ahead of us and we must be prepared.
Tonight I ask you to do three things to help us build on our momentum:
1. Make an immediate contribution of $10, $25, $50, $100, or $500 tonight. We have proven tonight that we can continue to compete, and that we know how to effectively invest your contribution. Will you make a contribution tonight and show the world, the pundits and voters across this country that we have the momentum and it is sweeping us onward.
2. Share the success story of our campaign with friends and family. If there are friends or neighbors that doubted our campaign, or are undecided, please encourage them to visit our website tonight, tomorrow and over the next few days and learn more.
3. Consider becoming more involved in our campaign: Volunteer, Join a Meetup or start a Grassroots Meetup Team, Join our Myspace group, our Facebook group and our LinkedIn group.
Three ways to help us keep the momentum going: contribute, share the news and become more involved.
Again, I cannot adequately express my profound thanks to you. When people ask you tonight and tomorrow why you think we did so well in a state where only weeks ago we were polling 5th and 6th, please tell them because we believed in some important ideas and we stand by those ideas, and we do so together.
We are less than $250,000 from our goal, lets knock this out of the park.

President Mike Huckabee?
The New York Times has run a very balanced, I would say rather favorable piece on Governor Huckabee's campaign. In his op-ed for the leading newspaper, William Kristol comments on Huckabee campaigning in New Hampshire, handling the recent ABC debate, and his viability in the general election:
For me, therefore, the most interesting moment in Saturday night’s Republican debate at St. Anselm College was when the candidates were asked what arguments they would make if they found themselves running against Obama in the general election.
The best answer came, not surprisingly, from the best Republican campaigner so far — Mike Huckabee. He began by calmly mentioning his and Obama’s contrasting views on issues from guns to life to same-sex marriage. This served to remind Republicans that these contrasts have been central to G.O.P. success over the last quarter-century, and to suggest that Huckabee could credibly and comfortably make the socially conservative case in an electorally advantageous way.

Cobb and Cherokee Huckabee for President Iowa Caucus Event

We had an incredible night on Thursday watching the Iowa Caucus returns at the historic Rock Barn in Canton. Members of the State Mike Huckabee for President Leadership Team came and spoke to a large number of Huckabee volunteers and supporters from Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, and Fulton Counties - as well as places as far away as the Demorest and Flowery Branch area.
The three priorities between now and the February 5th Georgia Presidential Primary are:
1. Each Volunteer Sign-up 10 more Huckabee Multiplier Challenge Volunteers.
2. Each Volunteer Commit to Call the Target Republican Primary Voters on Their List.
3. Each Volunteer Distribute Bumperstickers, Yard Signs, and Buttons to get Mike's name out in public view as much as possible.
With Mike's big win in Iowa, we have the momentum. We already have the organization and the best candidate. Now it is up to us to get out there and beat the bushes for Governor Huckabee!
